to End Homelessness in Skagit County

North Star is a community-wide effort to ensure every person in Skagit County has safe, stable housing and access to the services they need to thrive.

Ending homelessness requires all of us—local governments, service providers, businesses, and community members – working together. Whether you're looking to volunteer, stay informed, or bring your organization into this work, there is a place for you in the North Star Collective.

Why this work matters.

Homelessness and behavioral health challenges affect individuals, families, and neighborhoods across Skagit County. Too many neighbors struggle to find housing, access treatment, or connect with support systems.

No single organization can solve this alone.

North Star brings community partners together to coordinate housing, behavioral health care, crisis response, and recovery services. By aligning our efforts, we help more people move from crisis to stability and build a healthier, safer community.

Why join?

North Star Collective partners help strengthen our community’s response to homelessness. By joining, your organization becomes part of a network committed to coordinated solutions and lasting change. Partners have opportunities to:

  • Connect with leaders across housing, health care, public safety, and community services

  • Share knowledge and learn from innovative practices

  • Align programs and resources for greater impact

  • Contribute to shared data guiding community solutions

  • Help shape strategies that improve outcomes for those experiencing homelessness

Together, we can build stronger systems of care and a future where everyone in Skagit County can thrive.

I want to stay informed about North Star’s work and learn about volunteer opportunities.

I represent an organization or business and am interested in becoming a North Star Collective partner to amplify this work.

When people come together and offer help, there’s hope. As someone who, for decades, had no treatment or recovery system he could plug into easily, Kevin Riley is collaborating with North Star to “create a jailbreak” – a system built for recovery, not failure.
