North Star is a community-wide effort tackling the toughest issues facing Skagit County.
We’re starting where the need is greatest: making sure our neighbors suffering the most get the effective care, support, and housing they need to get off the street, on a path to recovery and into stable housing.
What is North Star?
We’re a public-private partnership uniting governments, housing and health providers, and first responders to provide effective care and housing for neighbors experiencing chronic homelessness in Skagit County.
What We’re Up To
Track our progress and find out what’s next. We’re already making a difference across Skagit County and have plans to accelerate that impact.
Skagit County Chief Deputy Chris Baldwin was frustrated. “We just realized, we’re failing people. All we’re doing is arrest, release, repeat.” North Star is changing that. “Now the cities, the county are coming together to pull resources to try and solve this problem…”
